Removing highlighting when using bootstrap with datatables and select extension

I am using datatables with bootstrap and the select extension. I have chosen to configure the select option to do the checkbox approach. The only problem is that I now want to remove the highlighting of the row that occurs when it is selected. Is there a way to do this?

I was unable to get the bootstrap styles to apply properly in DataTables live but it still shows the problem.
