Sorting breaks jquery set CSS

I've had to do some CSS changes using jquery after the initialization and I got it all looking and functioning the way i want it. The problem is, upon sorting the table, the CSS breaks and reverts back to the dataTable.js defaults. Any help on how to go about preventing this would be appreciated.
