Custom row rendering - postcard style view?

i was hoping to use this more generically as it offers very nice filtering and pagination and speed.
however in the customer facing ux i use a standard postcard rendering. can i define my row definitions in more generic html terms

for example. can i fold the fields in the row into this style of rendering (complete with [more] truncation links? would be awesome!
