Row number for jquery datatable

Hi All,
Can someone please tell me if we can have certain row number for jquery data table.
I already tried appraoch mentioned here http://datatables.net/forums/discussion/2169/adding-and-deleting-rows-with-row-numbers/p1
to use the fnDrawCallback and calculate the row number but it doesnt work properly with pagenation .

Is there any other way by which i can have row number for my datatable.
