First of all, Allan, thanks very much for making DataTables available - as a developer, I'm in awe of the amount of effort it's clear you've put in, not just to the code and the documentation, but also to the support!

Anyway, my request relates to the fnServerParam function specifically, but is generally applicable to the other places where the 'name:a, value:b' format is used, as it's a request to add something to explicitly highlight that the example is defining a single "a:b" pairing, not two pairings!

I understand why it's in 1.x, but I'm afraid that coming back to DataTables after a gap, I got caught by it again at work and only just realised what it was after reading discussions on the forums this evening!

    Hi,

Thanks very much for your kind words!

I completely agree about the name / value requirement being a bit of a pain, and to that end, DataTables 1.10 actually uses `a:b` pairing in the new `ajax` configuration option: http://next.datatables.net/reference/option/ajax .

Specifically if you have a look at the `data` part of the documentation for `ajax` : http://next.datatables.net/reference/option/ajax#object .

The `dataSrc` option for the new `ajax` config does actually have its own documentation page - I think I'll do the same for `data` as well, as the current paragraph perhaps doesn't explain in quite the detail required. Thanks for flagging this up!

    Allan
