best way to "move" row to the top

Hello,

i need a hint for the right direction ;-)
I've a table filled by ajax-request and client-based sorting. Now i want a sticky row on the top. Is it possible to "move" a specific row to the top without using sorting?
As far as i see fnAddData puts a new row to the end of the table...

Any hint?
