unable to access td when using createdRow?

I want to check a value and then display appropriate image in a td,
how can i do this using createdRow.
the syntax provided here:https://datatables.net/reference/option/createdRow
is giving error "Unexpected string" for "$('td', row)".

Any update on this would be of great help.
