Using class name instead of column index to exclude from ColVis dropdown list

Is there a way of passing in the class name of the column instead of an array of column indexes when selecting the columns to be excluded from the dropdown list in ColVis? This is because I have the same set of datatable initialisation code for different datatables, and was wondering whether it is possible to select the columns to be excluded by specifying it in the class name of the TH (like columnDefs).
