server side processing - REST , content-range support

Hi i have not found clear example for server side processing with pagination. I would like to ask you if datatables support REST services for obtaining data - or better RESTFull services for RW operations over my data. What i mean is that for example for pagination i need to use HTTP content range techniques. do you support it ? i have found only that datatables support only custom attributes such as iDisplayStart and iDisplayLength , which can be ussable also for the same. But it's not standard way because lot of data sources follow HTTP RFC and it's technique content range. so please what about content-range support in datatables ?
