edit function

Hi everyone, i am doing edit functionality .

In Data table ,I am selecting check box and click the edit option ,row is editing. but how can i get edited values in my controller(or) servlet. From controller i will update it to database. Finally: i want edit function using the database(how can we update the values in database).
please help me i am trying for this from long time
