monthwise Pagination

First of all I am completely new to datatables but so far I find it amazing and very intuitive. However I need a functionality which I don't know where to start at the moment.

I want by default to sort the table via a date and show all the entries of a specific month, going to the next page the next month should appear. How is that possible? If I sort the table differently, through a different column (e. g. a name) the pagination should appear with 50 entries a page e.g. again
