Search based on column (select)

Hello guys,
I want to ask how I can achieve that there is a select (option) element, options are being populated from the columns of the table, above the table. Based on the option the user has chosen, the table will be filtered through the search textfield value.

I tried some options but I didn't succeed. Nothing appears at all.

Are you basically looking for this, but the select boxes to show up at the top of each column?

I'm looking for a select box with the column names inside of it (First Name, Last Name, ...). Then if the user chooses as example the column First Name the search field should just search in the column First Name and not the whole table.
