How to resize a table?

When the print button (TableTools) is clicked, I need to change some styles, make the table narrower, and draw it again. I'm doing this so I can print a large table on a single page. The best I've come up with is changing the size of both tables (the header and body are split into separate tables I guess?...), set their margins to auto (otherwise they become offset), hide unneeded columns, make text smaller, draw table. This sorta works but it's hacky, looks like crap, and sometimes closing the print dialogue reverts changes (I intend to revert these when the TableTools print overlay closes, but I don't want it happening out of my control). Any ideas?
