any one to answer ??
Does that occur in example in the blog post that you linked to when using IE8/9? I don't have access to legacy IE versions at the moment I'm afraid so I can't test it myself right now.

ya it happens in example also alan.... is there way i can do that in ie 8 or ie 9
I've just used BrowserShots to test my blog post on IE8 and 9 and it appears to work just fine:

allan , remove both r and a using backspace ,...and check ...
allan one more doubt placeholder for global search input is not visible in ie 8 n 9.what is the solution for this
Still works just fine for me.
There is no solution for that. Those browsers do not support that feature of HTML. You need to upgrade your browser to a non-legacy version if you want that feature. This is not a DataTables issue, but a legacy browser one.
