How to use select footers only on filtered data

Hallo everybody,

In the "DataTables individual column filtering example (using select menus)" there is written that:
"One possible interaction chance would be to make use of fnGetColumnData's ability to get filtered data, so you could have the possible filtering values in the select menus to update to only those in the table, rather than all values."

How can I activate this functionality?
That example doesn't show this kind of interaction.

Can anyone help me?

I asked Allan Jardine to make a custom version for us that supported that functionality.

I think you can ask him to develop it. He asked us only for a small contribution.
