tabletools options - hiding columns & tooltips

Is there a way to tell table tools to exclude certain columns from exports (print/save....)
I have a few columns with url links that I wouldn't like to include in export.
I also have one column that is displayed with a tooltip.
With the default configuration the tooltip in included in the column data. Can I change the behaviour

you could always put a trigger on the button to hide the column then unhide after execution

I solved it with writing a render function that used regexp to rip the tooltip's html out.
