search box and pagination field spans out and away of the table to the right

Hello,
well one image better than 1000 words.
here is how my table looks like

as you see, the search box just sets itself far far away from the table and so does the pagination stuff.
Also, if I try to put paginate full numbers, they get sort of squeezed and you cant click on them. Yes, I read what Allan wrote in the css files about conflicts but ..it says use a another selector ..uhm what is a selector ? or better write a new one ...uhm i learned what document.ready was 2 days ago so...
there is nothing fancy in my initialisation code, i just copied and pasted what the example said. and the table copied the usage structure, the issue must be somewhere else. Even if I try to put limits to the width of the table, such as 400 px it makes no difference,
