Global settings function

Are global plugin settings in your roadmap? Something similar like here: http://docs.jquery.com/Ajax/jQuery.ajaxSetup#options

They aren't on the current plan as such, but it might very well fall out of any restructuring in the future (1.5 for example).

One thing you could do is set up an object with defaults, and pass that to DataTables, augmented by anything that is required for a specific table.

Would this be extending or wrapping the datatable object? I have tried to find a way to do this but have failed so far. Could you provide an example of such an object with a default parameter?
