Table width overflow / ellipses?

I was wondering I had read in a previous post from Alan that the system will automatically try and find the optimal width for each column. However I am wondering what you do with text overflow. I have certain situations when a 75 character single word exists in 2 columns and there is not enough space designated (set width of the table to 700pixels). Can your system automatically do the '...' at the end of some cells or not?
