Manually fire Pageresize?

I have several datatables inside of bootstrap tabs, and I have attached functions to adjust the columns and responsiveness when a tab is shown ('shown.bs.tab' event).
Unfortunately I am at a loss how to fire off the Pageresize event since it's not a part of the datatable object.
Javascript is not my first language, so any help would be appreciated ;)
