How to reload data?

Is it possible to first initialize the table and then update (reload) the data with an AJAX data source?
I am not talking about server side processing, which is a built-in functionality.
The reload event is triggered out side of the DataTable by interactions from users.

Well, i solved this problem by first fnClearTable and then next fnAddData.
It is working fine.
