I don't know what I'm doing. Just wanted to that. I don't know how to use datatables, or Java, or anything else I might need to know so please remember to talk to me like an idiot. I have a Wordpress site and am using a table created using the plugin WP_Table Reloaded to create a filterable table of products. The list shows the top 10 items at a time, which is good. However what I need is slightly different. I need a page with a box on it where you type the search term. You then hit enter and he table is THEN generated. I don't want a table visible until after the search term is entered. I was told this is possible by the creator of the plugin, but I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS or how to do one so I came here. Remember; I have no computer knowledge at all besides a basic understanding of html.

PS: One guy I talked to told me to "initialize" a table. I don't know what that means.

This looks like the same question as your other thread - if you could keep the same question in just a single thread that would help everyone be able to track what is going on in the forum - thanks!

Did you do what I suggested in the other thread ( http://datatables.net/forums/comments.php?DiscussionID=4302&page=1#Item_7 )? Can you create an HTML table without DataTables? If you don't know how to use Java to create a table or even how to write, compile and run a Java program, then this isn't the right place to ask, as this is a forum for DataTables (Javascript), not Java. I'd suggesting asking in a Java forum if that is the case.

Once you have an HTML table, we can help you out here :-)
