This post might be of interest: http://datatables.net/forums/comments.php?DiscussionID=514&page=1#Item_4 . Failing that, it might be an idea to ask in an MSSQL forum what can be used instead of limit (as I'm afraid I know next to nothing about MSSQL!).
i tried to do a work around where i'm putting the start and limit values in a for loop, but it does not seem to be working, im getting the first 10 records then all nulls, i think datatables sends the totalcount and tries to match that with the records in the loop.
