Example similar to DataTables.net Account Details page

I'm looking to implement functionality similar to the "Invoice details" portion of the DataTables.net Account Details page (https://datatables.net/account).

In particular, filling in the table data as you've done on that page "First name: ...", "Last name: ...", etc., and then using the Editor to edit that data via the "Edit" button.

Is the "Simple standalone editing" example a good starting point to achieve something similar? Is there a more complete example out there?
