Retrieving Data From another column if first column check box is checked

Hello I have a pretty simple questions but can't seem to figure out how to accomplish this and was hoping you guys could help. We are using the datatables in a wizard so the data supplied to the tables is dynamic. I have a datatable setup with two columns column one has a checkbox and column two has some additional data. I need to run through the table and any rows that have column one checked I need to retrieve the data out of column two and present that data on the final step of the wizard. Is this possible? I have a feeling it is but I am pretty new to web programming and jquery and I am kind of stumped.
