We have a "root" license, and a "developer sub-license". If the "developer sub-license" account is deleted, will Editor continue to work?
Is there any account information from the sub-license "inside" the JS files for Editor to work?

Yes. Editor doesn't "phone home". The sub license is to allow your developers to download the licensed code and read the full documentation.
