Detail display doesn't span across all columns when using array as data source

When using the sample code to show the detail of a row, when I change the data source of the datatable from an inline table (with header and footer) to an array, when the detail is displayed it doesn't span across all of the columns of the datatable. For example, if my datatable has 5 columns, when I show the detail, it will only stretch across 4 columns (when using an array as the data source). When I switch back to an inline table as the source, everything works again and the detail spans across all the columns. Any help would be appreciated in solving this. Thx.
