Is floating table cells, or using an alternative row layout possible?

Hi all,

I am struggling with an issue that I hope someone can help me with. I don't think what I am trying to do is possible, but if anyone can help me find a solution I would be very grateful.

I wish to have my table structure as follows:

I know the usage instructions say that the table needs to be in a well structured format, but I thought I would ask anyway to see if anyone can let me know if what I am trying to do can be achieved.

I'm sorry - no - this is not currently possible with DataTables. DataTables does not have any native row grouping, nor does it allow rowspan / colspan inside the tbody (how for example would you sort a column which has a rowspan element in it).
