HTML string as source

Hi, is it possibile to use an html string (created from an existing table with some modifies, so not from the DOM) as source for the plugin and have/use only the export button? I need only the excel button and no table in my frontend. Thanks in advance

You can try hiding the table like this: http://live.datatables.net/rayovera/1/edit

That may do the trick,
