I was wondering if there is a change event that the dependent() API can detect when the user changes his selection in a "Datatables as an input" field?
The dependent() method should still work. There was a problem in the early 2.0 release, but it was fixed in 2.0.3 - see release notes here. If you are using an older version, it would be worth upgrading to the most recent and seeing if the functionality you want is there,
