Hide portion of field from print/pdf/excel

Description of problem: I have a date field, and to allow it to sort accurately I had to put in a hidden span with the date in a YYYYMMDD format, this works fine on the front end, but when trying to export in pdf or excel / csv it prints this hidden span content as well. Is there a way to, say... hide anything wrapped in a specific html element, or better, with a specific class from printing?

Nevermind, I was looking at the wrong problem

I decided to use the moment plugin to sort the date which resolved my printing issue

I cant find a way to mark as resolved
