CSS Styling: Finding the selector

Hello. Two questions:
For the selector: a.inline-edit-enable - is there a way to customize the text on the button.

For general styling, the "compact" class name - which selector would it be applied to.

I have found the selector for the wrapper, and managed to change all of the font color:

div.dataTables_wrapper{ color: purple; }

But I can't figure out how the compact class name can apply to this selector. Is there another way to write the css?
