    Your best option is to right click on the element and select "Inspect". It will show you the element, including class name information so you can target it like:

    div.dataTables_info {
      color: white;
    }

    Allan already gave you the answer. Apply your own CSS to override the default style.

    Ah, you also need to add "!important":

    div.dataTables_info {
      color: white !important;
      background-color: black;
    }

    See example here: http://live.datatables.net/wafokazi/1/edit

    What exactly have you tried? Please update Colin's test case with what you are doing so we can offer suggestions.

    please stop messing around and do answer the question, if possible...

    We aren't messing around. If the steps Colin provided aren't working for you then we need to understand why. Showing us what you did is the best way. Here is Colin's example updated with the page length, search, pagination and header highlighted.

    ... and here's a screenshot showing how what an element inspection looks like - as I mentioned in my last reply.

    In regards to us "messing around", we can only help you if you show us what you want help with. Saying "it's not showing anything" doesn't help us to help you - take screenshots, use the example we've provided, anything that demonstrates the problem ...
