extra filter params

Is it possible to push extra filter params, with out having the respective column? For example, if you have a 2 col table what is posted is sSearch_0,sSearch_1. can i add my own params during the post, like a filter_0,filter_1

wow, i feel like such a dumb ass, i went on and wrote an entire JQ extension to overwrite the parameters sent by the plugin.
