Configurable iPipe in fnDataTablesPipeline?

I'm using the code from the pipelining example and it's working great. I need to make the default iPipe = 5 configurable and was wondering where the appropriate place to store a setting used by an fnServerData callback function would be. I thought about putting it in jQuery.fn.dataTableExt.

Sticking it on jQuery.fn.dataTableExt sounds like quite a good idea to me :-). The extension object is there for that kind of thing!
